Bella

I made this card for my niece- just because! She likes horses, has had one, but doesn't right now, and she'd like to. You may ask why the puppy in the purse on the inside, well, that's one of "our" things! She has a chihuahua and loves purses - she'd like to be able to carry "Roxy" around with her, but she's grown a little too much for that - so every card I make for her has this stamp somewhere on the card!

Colored with Copics, except for her shirt- it's paper pieced - tiny!

5000 hits = Blog Candy!

Looks like I'm getting close to 5000 hits! I'll offer up some blog candy for this event! I don't know what it will be yet, I know it will include some copics and some stamps, and it will be fun! Once I figure it out, I'll post it! Oh, and for those of you who don't have a blog, send me an email and I'll add your name to the hat as well!

Leave a comment and we'll see who has good luck when the counter shows 5000!

Post a link on your blog and we'll see how fast this happens!

Good luck!

Flutterby Wednesday .

The general idea for this card came to me while I was driving home tonight. The actual execution turned out to be a little more difficult than I thought - I think it's because of the cardstock/paper I used for the actual butterfly. But, it's done, and I think I like it! :)

Whimsy Guest Designer Challenge

Whimsy Stamps has a guest designer call for February! Check it out Here!
See the Post on Jan 17th!

I don't have any Whimsy stamps at this point, but I do think this stamp is a bit whimsical!

I tried to stay as true to the original sketch as I could, with no additional embellishments! Maybe I should have embellished! Ces't la vie!

This birthday card is on it's way to The Netherlands! I got the box all packed up and it will ship out on Monday. I always seem to get their Christmas package there late, but the Birthday I can do on time! Go figure

I used my new Label Nestabilities, and I sure do like them a lot! I think I want to go make something else with them! Otherwise, colored with Copics, paper is just from my stash!

Last of the Baby Cards

This is the baby card that's going with the last of the baby presents! Time to move on! :)

I put 2 images together in order to get this one. There is a similar image already but together by Bella, but I didn't have time to order it and get it, so I fooled around until I could get this to work out. It did include some copying and shrinking!

Oh, and this is my take on this week's SCS sketch!

Flutterby Wednesday

I started out to make this a monochromatic flutterby card, but that didn't work, so then I tried embossing powder on the outline and I didn't like that, so I ended up stamping the butterfly and using a little liquid embroidery. Not exactly the look I was going for, but there's notmuch Wednesday left, so better get this posted!

Baby

The baby finally arrived on Monday, after a very long and difficult delivery. Hospital said it was the most difficult delivery they had ever had - and it's not a new hospital! Baby had some lung issues at first, but is doing well now. Mom gets to go home today, baby has to stay until Friday. He's kinda cute! :)

Kitty Kat Friday

This card was just fun to do! Only problem is, I can identify with it too much! Both of my cats have been in this position - but I don't think they looked quite so gleeful! :)

Sunflower

You know how you always have a "go to" stamp at any time? Oh it changes from time to time, but there's always 1. Right now my go to stamp seems to be this sunflower. I've made about 6 cards or different items with it in recent weeks, so I pulled it out tonight and made this one. I changed it up a bit -as I cut it out, and popped it up. I also put soe fun flock in the middle of it, and now I wish I hadn't.

I also need to find a better way to get my Pictures onto this page. It's always night when I try to photograph these cards, and doesn't matter if I turn the lights out or leave them on- they just don't come out right. If I try to scan anything with embellishments, I get a shadow across it! Oh well.....

Flutterby Wednesday

It's Wednesday (trust me it's Wednesday somewhere!) I actually had time to make a card for Danni's Flutteby Challenge!

I'm happy with the way this one came out - I could try some more of these!

She's still waiting - and some other ramblings!

My friend still hasn't had her baby - so I sent her this card today. She better have it soon, I think I may be out of stamps if I have to send a card next week! LOL!

Ok, so it was 76 degrees here this afternoon - absolutely crazy! It broke a 41 year old record - by a lot! I know those of you who live in cold country can't imagine why anyone would complain about this kind of weather on the 12th of January! Well, it's because in the California Bay area - we don't get a lot of winter - and what we do get is usually in January - if I wanted warm weather year round - I'd move there! LOL Oh well, it's supposed to start cooling down in a couple of days...we sure could use some rain!

I figured out today that the retirement date I set last year about this time is only 37 months away! That doesn't sound too bad - even if I extend it about 6 months given the current economic situation, that's only 43 months - even that doesn't sound too bad. It's about 180 weeks - about 1480 days - those sound a bit too long, but I'm liking the sound of 43 months, though 37 sounds even better!

Time to try and make a few cards!

Make it Bright

One of the challenges for this week was to make a card and Make it Bright! Here's my take on this

Birthday Book

This is kind of a take off on a Calendar - I made it for a Friends's Birthday - it's a page for each month, and you can record the birthday's you want to remember on the correct date line! Of course, I used the bind it all to keep it together!

Kitty Cat Friday

I received this stamp as a free gift from one of the stamp companies because they thought they took too long in sending my order! How nice was that! I thought it would be fun to try and I think I like it!

Birthday Bella

Another birthday card for a friend this week. I felt like Pink and Brown this time!
Also used some Birthday embellishments I found - something different!

Check out LIM's blog

Finished project

Here's some pictures of the finished calendar project. Of course when I went to put it all together, I punched the first 3 months at the top with the bind it all, and of course that wouldn't work since I needed to side bind it! I redid those months and the cover and got it put together in the correct fashion

Birthday Calendar

I have a few friends who have birthdays this coming week, so I've been making cards and calendars for them - here's one Calendar, from A Muse for one of the gals. This is a PDF download from A Muse, I think it's $3 - with the proceeds going to Charity -I seem to remember this year it's American Cancer society. They're fun to do and easy to put together. I'll use Bind-it-all to finish it up and get it in the mail!

Happy New Year - 2009

How did it get to be 2009 already? It seems like it just turned 2000 - and now it's 2009 already! Oh my!

This is my take on the SCS Sketch Challenge for the week - with some artistic license.
